Arrival & Dismissal

Below, you will find diagrams of our arrival and dismissal carpool lanes and walk up areas. A few notes about what you are looking at:

Arrival

  • Students can arrive as early at 7:10am, before that time there is no admittance into the building and there are no staff on duty to supervise children.
  • Students in grades PreK and Kinder MUST enter the building on the S. Third Street side, students in all other grades may use the S. Third or the S. Rice carpool lanes.
  • Students who arrive between 7:10-7:30am will wait in the cafeteria (PreK and Kinder) or in the Multipurpose room (grades 1-5); these students will be dismissed to class when the 7:30am bell sounds.
  • PreK and Kinder students are always walked to class by their teacher.
  • Students must be in their classrooms when the 7:40am bell rings. After that point your student will be tardy. As the parent, I need you to work hard to avoid that from happening.
  • The first day is going to take a while - don't stress the first few days, the carpool line will be a bit slower and that's ok. We go slow the first week to ensure nobody makes mistakes.

Dismissal

Students are dismissed in several different ways:

  • iKids after-school program - those students stay on campus and we transition them during dismissal
  • Daycare buses - we collect students and ensure they get on the correct bus if they are going to daycare
  • Independent Walkers - walkers are dismissed from the MPR and are unsupervised after they leave the building. This method of getting home should only be utilized by older students. Your classroom teacher has the required permission slip if you are going to have your student walk home.
  • Carpool - as you can see on the diagram below, we have 2 carpool areas:
    • PK-1 on S. Third and Grades 2-5 on S. Rice.
    • If you have siblings, older siblings always go to the younger sibling area.
    • Example: if you have a 4th grader and a 1st grader, you will pick them up on the S. Third carpool.

IMPORTANT: The first day is going to take a while - that's ok! Going slow means we are being careful, it will speed up as everyone gets used to dismissal procedures.
